Boomerang’s FIRST FLIGHT New Play Festival lineup

Folks we are so proud to announce the lineup for FIRST FLIGHT (November 14h-18th, 2012)…

Wednesday Nov 14th at 7pm
PAINT by Zack Calhoon, directed by Jordana Williams
Beginnings and endings. Last dates and first dates. We enter relationships with the best of intentions and refuse to abandon them when all is lost.

Thursday Nov 15th at 7pm
GOODNIGHT SUNSHINE by Terence Patrick Hughes, directed by Cailin Heffernan
A farcical tragedy about family, fame, and the impossibility of going home again.

Friday Nov 16th at 7pm
DREAM OF A DEER AT DUSK by Adam Kraar, directed by Jen Wineman
A lyrical drama focusing on an idealistic 15-year-old girl trying to rescue a 27-year-old autistic man from the persecution of their small town.

Saturday Nov 17th at 3pm
THE GNOME by Isaac Rathbone, directed by Linda S. Nelson
An Upstate New York man uncovers a magical lawn gnome after an early spring thaw. It grants him his wishes, but each come at a cost. A tale of greed, lust, betrayal, snow and Wal-Mart.

Sunday Nov 18th at 3pm
LOOKING FOR THE QUESTIONS NOT THE ANSWERS by Lavinia Roberts, directed by Sarah Norris
A librarian, disillusioned by the lack of interesting reference questions, posts a flyer on the NYC subway seeking questions. The response she gets will surprise you.

Sunday Nov 18th at 7pm
BOHEMIAN VALENTINE by Mateo Moreno, directed by Kent Burnham
A dark comedy of love and loss told through the eyes of one troubled young man to document his memories before he leaves everything behind.

The readings will be held at New Georges’ studio space called “The Room”, 520 Eighth Avenue, 3rd floor. Reservations can be made by emailing literary@boomerangtheatre.org . Donations of $5 per reading are suggested.
