Richard, Hamlet and Johnna

Hi folks…

For those of you out there who were not at Flights of Fancy on Saturday, we announced the first three projects for the 2013 season (Boomerang’s 15th Anniversary, btw). Coming up…

Zack Calhoon as Hamlet, Summer 2012

-Boomerang’s acclaimed production of HAMLET from summer 2012 will return with educational performances in February 2013. Zack Calhoon will return in the title role, and Marielle Duke (Assistant Director from Summer 2012) will take over direction from Artistic Director Tim Errickson.

-Our next outdoor Shakespeare production will be RICHARD III, directed by Philip Emeott. R3 follows Richard as he seduces and murders his way to the throne of England. R3 will tentatively open in Central Park on June 22nd, 2013 and will celebrate Boomerang’s 15 years of free Shakespeare in New York City.

-The first production of our 2013 Rep season will be the world premiere of Johnna Adams’ LICKSPITTLES, BUTTONHOLERS AND DAMNED PERNICIOUS GO-BETWEENS, directed by John Hurley. In Johnna’s hysterical new verse play,  rhymes and true love attempt to prevent war and political intrigue in Denmark, in France, and in the sky in a brand new flying machine! John Hurley has previously directed Boomerang’s productions of ARTIST DESCENDING A STAIRCASE and ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL. Johnna Adams’ work includes The Angel Eaters Trilogy with our BFG partners Flux Theatre Ensemble, as well as premieres at theatres around the country. Her play SANS MERCI will be produced by Flux in 2013.

We still have two more productions to announce for the 2013 Rep, we will confirm those for you in a few weeks.

Have a great Thanksgiving
