Midsummer Night’s Dream opening day pictures

(Don’t worry, we put all the incriminating ones on Instagram)

On June 21st, we celebrated not just the first performance of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (which, by the way, is a critical and audience hit!) but also marked our 16th season in Central Park. We are honored to provide access to free Shakespeare performance, and have performed for near twenty five thousand audience members during that time.

Here’s a few pics of the talented and sexy cast of MIDSUMMER enjoying opening day!

Maybe the greatest pic ever from one of our shows

This little guy walked right into the performance on Saturday June 21st, enthralled by what was happening onstage. He stood quietly just past the first row of people on the lawn, a few feet into the performance space, and just watched for about 10 minutes.

This is a picture of Scott Michael Morales (Puck) delivering part of his monologue right to him, giving him a moment I’m sure he’ll never forget. (Kid’ll probably end up becoming an actor.)

Artwork for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

MSND_Final 2

Stefano Imbert has once again produced a tremendous work of art for our upcoming show. This marks Stefano’s 10th illustration for our outdoor Shakespeare productions, in addition to his work on our indoor rep seasons. Stefano will also be designing the artwork for our upcoming production of LOVES LABOURS LOST in Bryant Park later this summer.

I love the simplicity of this image, and the romance of a warm night in New York City. Nothing like a little magic in Central Park in summer!

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM opens June 21st in Central Park. Admission is free! For more information, click here.
