2014 Season Boom Artists Boomerang Support donations How you can help Indie Theatre Community New Plays Planning

14 Playwrights, 7000 audience members, and 1 special request

When looking back on our year at Boomerang Theatre Company we have been thrilled to have had the opportunity to:

  • Give 14 playwrights the opportunity to develop new work
  • Produce 2 exciting Shakespeare Revivals in outdoor settings
  • Provide entertainment for over 7000 audience members

And none of this would have been possible without YOU our generous donors and supporters. This year your support has been invaluable in paying for everything from rehearsal space to period costumes, to compensation for all of the incredible talent we’ve been able to bring together. We are so grateful for those of you who attended our shows, donated to our campaigns, and spread the word on social media. We love making great theatre for you and we’re excited to make even more in 2015.

In the coming year, we plan to:

  • Host another FREE Shakespeare production in Central Park
  • Expand our First Flight new play festival and continue to support the work of talented playwrights.
  • Present the first musical in Boomerang’s production history

And we hope that you’ll be a part of all of this with us again. As we close out 2014, we look to you our supporters to help us continue the work we’re doing.

That’s why we’re asking you to consider making an end of the year donation to the company so that we can continue this great work.

We know that this time of year your inbox is usually loaded with requests for support, and we appreciate you considering us in your end of year giving process. We have an ambitious season ahead of us and we’re counting on your support.

Midsummer Night’s Dream opening day pictures

(Don’t worry, we put all the incriminating ones on Instagram)

On June 21st, we celebrated not just the first performance of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (which, by the way, is a critical and audience hit!) but also marked our 16th season in Central Park. We are honored to provide access to free Shakespeare performance, and have performed for near twenty five thousand audience members during that time.

Here’s a few pics of the talented and sexy cast of MIDSUMMER enjoying opening day!

A Shakespeare Double Dip this summer

One of Boomerang’s core programs is producing free Outdoor Shakespeare in parks. During our 15 year history, we’ve played 126 free performances, for over 15,000 spectators. Needless to say, we are big fans of Will’s work, and happy to keep his words alive in our parks each summer.

Boomerang is proud to announce our Summer 2014 lineup…
